I have a Force 125 that was bogging out at high RPM's. It would take a while to get up to 5000rpm if at all. Then would run good for a bit then bog out and jump back and forth. So, I proceeded to replace all gaskets on carbs and clean them. I also replaced the fuel guage on fuel tank, which was in bad shape and I replaced all hoses from tank to fuel pump including new ball and new fuel filter. Then I replaced the gaskets on the fuel pump and the gasket that goes behind the fuel pump around the plate behind the fuel pump. When I removed that part I could see into the crankcase. Now after all that I have no fuel pressure. I hear air when I pump the ball and can not get the fuel filter to fill up. My question is could the bad seal be in anyon of all those connections? How do I determine which it is? Also my question is if anyone has an idea what the original problem was? I have not been able to test the engine yet to see if I fixed it since I ahve no fuel pressure. Well I hope I figure this out soon. Thanks for anyhelp in advance. Joel

Joel

Hi. when you replaced that primer ball did you face it in the right direction. arrow pointing towards the motor. Did you also inspect the fuel tank for damages?
Check those things first and see what your conclusions are.

Nick

HI, When you mentioned that it jumps back and forth, is it dropping a cylinder, you may have an ignition problem. losing spark to one cylinder will drop rpm, it could be intermittent, the cylinder can kick in and out.

I am not sure what kind of fuel tank and filter set up you have. If it is a spin on rayco type filter and an inboard tank with a long fuel line you might want to try filling the filter with fresh fuel to prime it first. If there is alot of air in the lines it can be nearly impossible to get it to prime by just squeezing the bulb.

i have the exact set up that bkool just talked about .. rayco, inboard tank up front , long fuel line... when the boat was new an when i run outta fuel,,, i have to rig up a seal ( a hunk of putty ) to the fuel filler neck ,, stick my aircompressor trigger blower thingy thru the putty seal an pressurize the tank to get a soild fill of gas in the line system.. nothin' else will do it.. ditto for the oil resivor system...
