Just changed a power pack on 90 hp force and it fired right up no problems. I let it run for awhile and shut it down. Waited a little while and started it back up and ran it awhile. 7 days later tried to start it and it won't start, just turns over and back fires. No spark on any cylinder. Checked stator wires and they are reading 700 ohms. Any ideas????

What year is your engine?

Are you sure it is not getting spark to any cylinder??? It should not bacfire without spark, unless it is preignition and that only happen on gasoline engines if they are EXTREMLY hot.

You should have three coil and two packs. It is unlikely that all three coils died at the same time, unless it is the common ground wire connecting them to the engine.

One pack drives one coil and the other pack drives the other two coils. It is ulikely, but possible that both packs died at the same time.

I would look for a power wire or ground problem.

It's a 92. I wasn't getting any arc on any wire. It's a 3 cylinder. I only get the backfire when I pump the bulb or choke it. The new pack has a post for a ground wire and a ground wire but the old pack didn't so I grounded the wire to the engine and left the post alone with nothing on it.
