JB Weld or 3M 5200 will work fine. Filled mine in with JB a few years ago and it worked great. Put a piece of tape under the hole and level it off with the filler....

Thanks Rick, JB it is..Foil is coming off and smart tabs getting put on. Hydrofoil was a waste of money...caused more problems than i expected.

When I filled mine I took a larger drill bit and "touched" both sides of the holes with it. That way the jb plug is less likely to slide out.

DougV>

Why do you need to fill the holes? Just wondering what difference it makes. Thanks

Looks better than having holes in your motor....Hide the fact that you installed a fin and it didn't work out.... :)

I filled them because i'm fussy how it looked...lol Plus i spent a weekend sanding and repainting the outdrive..I'm always polishing or painting something! If i had a dollar for every hour i work on my boat i could take a long vacation! Or spend it on boat gas! LOL...

Hey Gary, I had a '65 Starcraft 18' Holiday with a Mercuriser 120 in it....before they had a 140 I/O. Really liked it for big open water. Rode good and very safe. A little awkward trailering, but you can't have your cake and eat it too...right?

Mark

Hi Mark,So far i really like my starcraft. It is a heavy boat to trailer but my Tahoe does a good job pulling it.I bought the boat in December and have yet to get it in any big water. So far it does good on the lake.It has everything i need to put it in the ocean,i may try it this summer.
Heading out in the morning to a 6000 acre lake..hope the fish are biting...Gary
