I don't know how difficult the installitation is on your engine but it's well worth the trouble.

c/6

Hooty

I am in the middle of installing one on my '95 70hp. So far so good. Mount gauge in dash. Route tubing to engine. Tie into the circulation system.

Here we have the option of hooking up to a cooling line, or tapping into the peehole feed hose. I have opted to use the peehole hose. If I don't get satisfactory reading on the gauge, I will tap into another line. I won't be able to test it till April.

I bought a kit which included the gauge, fittings and tubing, $40?.

Roscoe - I have been thinking about installing a weter pressure guage; I was searching back through the old archives and recognised your name. How did the installation work out for you?
I have a 1989 85 Hp Force

Me too. I did not use the peehole. My '95 70hp has a 1/4" threaded plug in the top of the thermostat housing. I unscrewed it, secured a 90* fitting, attached the tubing.

It works great.
Approx 3 at idle,
8-9 at cruising speed
13 at WOT.

One of these forum threads had a link to a Teleflex water pressure guage installation sheet/owners manual. It mentioned draining the water from the 20' long hose and from the guage itself when winterizing the boat. I could see blowing out the hose - but how do you get the water out of the guage? Do you have to remove it and shake the water out ?
