I recently bought a pontoon with a 75hp Force. I ran it with earmuffs and it didn't get alot of water coming out of the indicator like I thought it should.
I put it in the water and a bunch of water comes out of the lower unit and very little, if any comes out of the two exhaust holes on the back. Under half power a small stream of water will come out of the indicator but not much. Engine doesn't seem to get real hot. What should I check first, this just doesn't seem right? I have ordered a service manual but any help from the experts would be great.

Two things I would do if I just bought a motor and didn't know the history of the cooling system maintenance.Inspect and clear the waterpump indicator hose and overboard nipple and change the waterpump and thermostats out with new.

Ditto. It isn't worth blowing up your engine just to save the cost of a water impeller and thermostat.

My '95 70hp has a 130 degree thermostat in it.

Do you have a 95 - 70hp?
Or a 96 - 75hp?
Or did they also make the 75hp in 1995?

Re: 1995 75HP Force Water Problem

Thanks for the info, I'll change those part out and see how it works. I read another post that mentioned something about a water "tube" that must send the water to the power head. Any experiece with this being a problem? As far at the exact year on the motor, I'm not sure. I'll have to check the model number to find out. Thanks for your advise!
