89 force 125HP Tilt holds great with no leak down since I replaced the seals in the pilot valves in the pump body, but when I tilt it down to the trim cylinder it leaks all the way down over the course of a couple of hours. Also, I just replaced the o-ring in the trim cylinder. Any suggestion on where to go from here?? Thanks a million
Greg

Re: force trim leakdown

The shuttle valve between the 2 pilot check valves may be sticking, valve should move back and forth smoothly. If you used an o-ring for the check valve needle, o-ring may be too small.

Clanton, I used the seals that you recomended in a post I saw from a while ago (carb seals). Is there any trick to putting the seals on the valve?? Like I said the tilt holds great (it was leaking down all the way in less than 5 minutes before). I'll give the shuttle valve a look today. Is that an easy to match o-ring on there?? Thanks a million for your reply. Greg

Re: force trim leakdown

I clean the check valve needle with a tooth pick or sewing needle. What you are saying is the trim cylinder is leaking down, right. Could be o-ring on check valve body, shuttle valve, pilot valve seal, or trim cylinder piston seal. I would check the pilot check seal again. I used a Ford and Chev
air condition o-ring kit for some of the o-rings.

I am looking in my manual and I don't see a Pilot ck valve listed anywhere in the diagrams

So how many o-rings does one person need to replace pilot check valves and shutter valves seals. I want to attempt this project but I want all my pats available. i think I'll get a fill screw o-ring too

Re: force trim leakdown

Please just the # of o-rings for the 2 pilot valves and the 1 shuttle valve,Quote "The problem in the valve body is the seal on the pilot valve pn 820719" does that mean order 2, one for each pilot valve? AND
The shuttle valve only has the o-ring in the center what is the part # for this? Anyone please

Re: force trim leakdown

You will need 2 of the small o-rings, one for each pilot valve, and I have no clue what the part # for the shuttle valve o-ring is. You should try a new post so the experts out there will see it. I'm the one who asked the questions in the first place, so i get an e-mail telling me someone (you) responded to my post. Good luck, and this repair will work out well.
