I've been reading and trying ideas for three weeks on this forum with no luck so now I need to ask. the problem is the engine was bogging out after a slow idle(no wake zones) when you punched it you might get 2500 rpms. I get decent spark, carbs are clean, fuel pump+diaphram look good, gas is fresh. tues night I changed the head gasket which was blown between cyl 2+3 put new plugs in ngk buhw, took it for a rip and it ran great! for about a hour and a half, tried idling, wot, medium crusing and it was good to go, next morning I get the kids and wife, put more gas in, launch and it barely ran, max rpm 2500-3000, felt like it was choking out, came home pulled head and gasket was still good. any ideas please
sorry for the long post

thanks Dan

As usual, start with the basics. Pull the plugs and see how they look. Are any fouled? Are you getting a good spark on all cylinders? Try pumping the fuel line while the motor is running. Does this help at all? New fuel filter?

Basically, you need to determine if it's electrical or fuel, and then go from there.

Re: 86 force 125 troubles

the plugs are black and I changed them again, it seems to get enough fuel and good spark the pistons are carboned up, I decarboned and it seems to get all carboned up very quickly why would that be, possibly to much fuel getting in?any help is greatly appreciated.

ps first boat and new to outboard repair and I have a manual.
