ever since I put a new impeller in the w-pump of my 125 hp force it won't go into reverse it just grinds like its trying and in forward before it plains off it starts jump in and out of gear. So I removed the lower unit today hoping the shifter rod was the problem but it seems O.K. What i am wondering is how much play should their be between the 2 shafts this is all new to me but it seems to have excessive play.
