I am new to boating and I just purchased a 95' Starcraft 1700 with a 95' Force 120. When I try to turn the steering wheel the motor is stuck in one place, all the way to the right. Is there a lever or button that releases the steering? Can't figure it out. Thanks for the help!

No, there is no lock on the steering that I've ever heard of.

I am assuming you did not take this boat for a test drive.

First you need to determine where the problem is.
You need to disconnect the steering cable where it attaches to the steering tube on the motor.

Then, if the motor still won't turn, the pivot tube in the motor has froze up. Penetrating oil and grease are the answer.

If you can turn the motor by hand, then the problem could be in the steering tube(corrosion, clean and grease), the steering cable(replace it), or the steering wheel assembly.

Don't be afraid to ask for more help.
You will have a nice rig once you get the bugs worked out of it.
