1982 Chrysler 55 HP Lower Unit

Hey guys, I am working on this motor for a friend of mine. The lower unit has a crack in it just in front of the prop. The crack runs about 1/4 of the way around the gear housing. Is it possible to have this welded successfully? If not, where is a good place to look for a good lower unit? I live in the Oklahoma City area. Any help is appreciated.

You should be able to get it welded and sanded. Keep an eye on ebay. Do a search under chrysler outboard. I bought a complete lower unit (55HP chrysler) there two months ago for 36 bucks.
