trim switch is bad...i think

hey guys -<br />i think my trim switch is bad. i was having pump trouble - sent valve body in and got it repaired. put it back together and it worked...going up!<br />wouldn't come down. messed around with it a little. now it won't go up or down. i have a '90 force 150 with the 2 wire motor. could i bypass the throttle switch and install a wheel mounted switch? any help would be appreciated.<br /><br />thanks

Sure, a switch is a switch.<br /><br />But first find out if that is your problem.

When I got my boat I had the same problem. Did you check your relays? There should be 2 relays that good bad regularly. Mine are under the engine cover on my 85 hp force. I had to get 2 from the auto parts store for like 10 bucks apiece they can match them up to your old ones. I switched the 2 and sometimes it would work the opposite way but most of the time it wouldnt. you could do a search here and find hundreds of posts on this problem. one of them was mine hehe
