Force 120, Are the 130 degree and the 118 degree thermostats interchangable?

I have a '99 Force 120 that the heat alarm sounds when traveling at low RPM's in wakeless zones. I have read other posts, and I am going to try replacing my thermistat. I removed the 130, wonder if a cooler one might be something to try. Water seems to flow well at higher RPM's and have never had a problem with the alarm then. Suggestions?

I would leave the thermostat at 130, maybe get a new one.<br />Engine needs to run at the correct temp.<br /><br />Then put a new impeller in the water pump.
