I have 1994 Force 120Hp with a badly leaking prop seal. I looked at it today and blue gear oil was leaking pretty bad from the seal. i can hear some grit when I turn the prop.

I have the shop manual but it looks pretty involved. I'm mechanicly inclined but I just wanted to hear from some experience folks weather its worth it to do it myself or pay to have it done. Thanks!

If it is like my evinrude they need to be pressed. there is actually 2 seals (back to back). Save yourself the headache and pay a professional.

Has anyone done it themselves?

If it's anything like my Chrysler, it's easy to do.

The hardest part is getting the bearing cage separated . If you can find a harmonic balancer that will work on the lower unit it is pretty easy.
