Re: NEED HELP ASAP! STATOR POSITION!

Not alot of help, but here's what I've got.

125hp models use stators with 4 ignition wires leading to the terminal block. Due to mid-year changes, it is very important to lable the wires to ensure the wires are reinstalled in the same locations. See wiring diagrams on p 98 and 603 or your Clymers manual.
Do not disconnect the wires from the engine side of the terminal block.
Label and disconnect the 4 wires;
brown/black/blue
brown/black/yellow
brown/blue
and brown/yellow

Note the routing and orientation of the stator wires leading to the terminal block. Remove stator.

Reinstallation:
Caution-- Make sure the new stator and stator wires are installed in the same position and orientation.

Sorry, thats all my manual has to say on the subject.

The Seloc manual says even less: Label and disconnect wires. Connect wires of new stator.

Wish I could be of more help.

Re: NEED HELP ASAP! STATOR POSITION!

Determine the firing order of the cylinders and the direction of rotation of the flywheel. Align the flywheel at TDC. The first trigger the flywheel passes is #1 cylinder (Actual #1 is going to be a few degrees of rotation before TDC). Proceed wiring the triggers in firing order from there. It should be pretty obvious when the triggers are positioned properly. Don't be surprised if there is more than one way to mount them. I wouldn't be surprised if the trigger coils on a 4 cylinder are mounted symetrically. This would indicate that the mechanical mounting isn't critical, just the wiring. As long as the timing makes sense, you're OK.

The stator positioning isn't critical unless in that engine the trigger coils are part of the stator. Then follow above info.
