Bought a new 19' bowrider last summer and my wife doesn't like it.She has a bad back and can't take the pounding in busy water.I installed Smart Tabs so I could plane at lower speeds but it's not enough. There's usually only the two of us so the boat is lightly loaded.Anyone else had this kind of problem and found a decent solution. It's only a 5200 acre lake so it's busy most summer weekends when she's off work.

Re: Backache

Longer, heavier deep V is the real solution.... but doubt you will do that so....

Pulling off the SmartTabs and putting on real tabs like Bennetts where you can adjust them would make a world of difference. You can tab down all the way and plow the bow if you wish.
You are trimming the drive in, right? If not, you should be in rougher water.

The guys in Bacardi Silver cat take a pretty good beating in rough water....

Re: Backache

I had a good friend who had low-back troubles that prevented her from enjoying a good pounding (on the water) she started a regimen of exercise that alleviated the problem and totally changed her whole outlook on life... Other than that, a longer v-hull will ride smoother.

Re: Backache

Trade her in for a different model. :D :p

Just kidding. The pontoon sounds like a good idea. My small toon is enjoyed by the likes of my mom that fears the water and too much motion.
