Steering wheel help!

Hello,<br /><br />Im in the middle of refurbishing my 1978 Galaxy fiberglass 18', and I just recently purchased a Nardi Personal Marine steering wheel through eBay (linked below).<br /><br />Nardi Personal Marine Wheel <br /> <br /> My problem is that the wheel didn't come with the necessary hub/adapter/mount piece to attach the wheel to the steering column. I've scoured the web looking for this part to no avail. My local marine supplier has the part I need though they are attached and the part is not sold seperate from the wheel. I've begun to contemplate constructing something but I would much rather buy something premade. PLEASE, if anyone knows where I can find this, let me know. This is one of the last steps to getting my boat in the water and its driving me crazy.<br /><br />Much appreciated,<br /><br />Scott

I've found lots of these automotive hubs but none of them appear to be what I need...close but no cigar

So,...........<br /><br />You're trying to install a steering wheel from an Unknown Car,... Into a Boat....??.....<br />And,..... You Still haven't stated Exactly What Doesn't Fit...........<br /><br />Considering the Fact that the Wheel in Question Isn't for a Boat,.....<br />I'd Guess that your going to have to Adapt a Hub to Fit.......<br />Soooooooooo,........ Again,............<br />Where,+ What,....... Exactly Doesn't Fit to What,+ Where doesn't it Fit,..?????.....<br /><br />Boat Helms use either a 3/4" or 1" Tapered Shaft,.......<br />I've Never seen an Auto steering post with That.......Most are Splined......<br />Your going to have to Adapt a Boat Steering Wheel Hub..........

Well actually the wheel in question is in fact a marine steering wheel, however, it did not come with a hub adapter. So basically, the center hole in the steering wheel is too big to fit the 3/4" shaft without the appropriate hub adapter.

The only problem with buying those nice hubs, is that they cost twice as much as the wheel. And they would probably look silly anyway. I'd just pop for a new wheel that fits and be done with it...Put the old one up and get the money back...
