5 hp runs good for a few min then stopes

I have a 5 hp chrysler mod#6155 it runs good for a few min then just stopes then in a few min you can start it and it runs good for a few min the stopes<br />can any one help with this<br />im new to the boating<br /><br />thanks<br />Bobby

Sounds like you may have a fuel line problem. Does the bulb stay firm or do you have to pump it up again? What fuel to oil mixture are you using?

Howdy, Bobby.<br /><br />If the vent screw on the fuel tank cap is open you may be overheating it. If not, open it.<br /><br />Overheating would call for a new impeller in the water pump.

the fuel tank in on top you dont have to pump<br /> the vent screw is not open<br />I just got it this week end and the guy I got if from had gas and he said it was read to go that was going to be my next thing to ask what is the oil mixture?<br /><br />thanks<br />Bobby

The vent must be opened to allow the gas to flow to the carb.<br />Open to run, closed for storage.

so the screw on top of the gas cap has to be open<br />ok thanks for your help
