2002 NS40D2. Starts and idles great. At maybe half throttle and up it will intermittently miss/cough/sputter. (how do you recreate sounds with a keyboard?) The problem first started as a small almost undetectable miss and over the next couple of trips it has gotten worse. It's definately more pronounced the faster you go. Cleaned the fuel filter and there seems to be no problem with the gas getting that far. Checked plugs and did a decarb. Waiting for a manual but what can I do in the mean time?

Should I get the kit and rebuild them or just do the soak thing? I suppose if I'm going to take it all apart I might as well do the rebuild. Of course that's $100 versus the price of a can of solvent.

Just clean them. It's really unlikely that the needles and jets are bad....but, if just soaking them doesn't work....kit them.
