Hopefully somebody can answer my question. I bought a 1994 sea rayder. The problem is that if I am skiing or tubeing the rope has gotten caught in the intake. Is their any way I can put a screen or something over it, without block the flow of water.

I have never heard of anything that actually works, best thing is to not run over the rope (Don't mean to sound nasty though). Only other thing I can think of is something called a "Straight Line" It's basically pipe insolation covered with a soft material. Used mostly to keep the rope from rubbing on the gelcoat on the tournament boats, but should hold the rope out far enough from the back of your boat to maybe solve your problem.

Craig

it takes a lot of practice to keep the rope and boat where they belong. always approach so when you stop the wind will not blow the boat over he rope. whne skiing you should have a spotter watching the skier, it's should be part of the spotters job to be rope handler. i've unwrapped many a rope from the prop.

I have what is called an "impeller protector" It is basically "funnoodle" type stuff with a nylon cover that says "sea doo" so it cost much more than just a funnoodle would :) I always kill the engine as soon as the boat even comes close to the rope. Anything can happen, though :)

Add and extra couple of those little ski rope buoys, they work nicely ....

after a couple of time spending 20 minutes with a dull knife, you will learn how to approach with a tow rope.
