I think I'm going to quit AOL. What do you guys recommend for a dial-up connection user? I don't use it enough to justify a full-time hookup. I'm not too swift on computers and will appreciate your advice.

Re: Internet Service Providers

ISP.com has a good dial-up connection and it's cheap with no pop-ups to deal with. It goes by the month, so no long term contract or anything. I use it as a back-up to my cable connection.

http://isp.com/

Jack your making a good move getting rid of AOHell. I like AT&T Worldnet for my backup. Never gives me any problems whatsoever. I don't know if Compuserve is still in business, but don't get them. They are AOHell. Just a different color. Also, if you do decide on At&t, don't even install their software. You can dial in using dialup networking which is already on your computer. They can walk you through the process. It is rather simple. Goodluck!

Go Earthlink. NetZero probably isn't that bad too.

You can also check out www.lowermybills.com - you can usually find a good deal there. When it comes to dialup, the cheaper the better.

Be careful of Earthlink - they just cut 60% of their workforce. I use them for my hosting and had a DSL account with them and nver really had problem so I am not anti- Earthlink or anything. Just that they seem to be in trouble.

I have DSL at home.

However I also recommend Earthlink. I use it exclusively, when traveling with a laptop.

I've also had to revert to Earthlink when my DSL was down. Earthlink has never failed.

Like I said, I am a long time Earthlink customer but cutting 60% of your workforce is more than OH reduction ;) Know of many companies that ever cut 60% and are still around?

Re: Internet Service Providers

I saw an ad on TV for SBC/Yahoo DSL for either 24.95 or 29.95 a month. But was that for a period of time or regular rate? I know I'm tired of paying over $100 a month for cable/roadrunner.

Any thoughts on SBC? Thanks

I have netzero highspeed @ $14.95 a month and can't complain. It even comes with pop up blocker. and it had lots of local numbers. Just got a good write up on msn business too.
