Buddy of mine I just saw and worked with all last week just died, massive heart attack(second)last night, his name was Art, hell of a guy. Only 57, rough working condition type job(-40 2 weeks ago). He was kind of a dad type to us younger guys, we're all amazed at the stuff he can do. I worked with him all over west coast for last 5 yrs. He poured me in his truck to get me to the hospital when I got hurt on the job a few years back. Was stuck on job in Helena, MT. for 2 months(went home only for 5 days around Christmas). As I was leaving(my job got done first)and we were planning on hanging out again at next job, he was saying how much his wife of 35+ yrs wanted him home to take some time off with her. Great Dad, Grandpa, Husband, and friend. A finer guy I've never met. I am so sad for his family and extremely bummed. I hope I made this "clicky", he's big guy in middle of pic, taken Sat. in Helena Montana, with a bunch of us there, 1pm CST 1/17/04, last pic I got of him.
Heinz

http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/heinzforster2002/detail?.dir=/My+Photos&.dnm=b961.jpg

Was gonna post this monday night, had it typed and all but then figured why bring everyone down. But since the topic came up,,,, Monday I lost a coworker (Bobby) to a heart attack. He was the nicest most easy going guy you ever want to meet, everyone really liked him. Never heard him say a bad thing about anyone. He was one of the good guys. It was quite a shock because he was only 29 years old.

The guy was in great shape, played ice hockey and worked out doors doing physical work. He played an ice hockey game saturday night and felt sick afterwards. He dealt with the pain and sick feeling till sunday morning,By then he was in really bad shape. then went to the doc. He went into surgery and that was about it. They said all but 5% of his heart was damaged beyond repair. The surgery was not sucessful. His mother made the tough decision to halt the life support monday afternoon.

His mother is our secretary in our maintenance office here at work. We all love her like a second mother. She has one other boy (Carl) with autisum(sp). Carl looked up to his brother as his ultimate hero, I cant even imagine them having to tell him his bro is gone. It chokes me up just thinking about this.

I will tell ya one thing, Do what you want to do while you can because you never no when your going to be called.

So sorry to hear Heinz..You are so right Flahthead. I was in a coma for five days after my heart attack..Docs had pretty much given up on me when I woke up and wanted to know what the H... was going on. Since then I do those things that in the past I would say maybe later..Your outlook on life changes after a near death experience. The sky seems more Blue to me now and the things I have always wanted to do I am doing now and not tomorrow..

Heinz, Flahthead – I’m sorry to hear about your losses. We just lost Carl from across the street. He came home from WWII on a short leave, got married and went right back to Europe. His wife says everyone warned her the marriage wouldn’t last. They made it through the 60-year mark before Carl passed. The neighborhood seems a little quieter, a more empty now.

Heinz.

Really sad news. :( It seems they all go too soon.

Since this is hardly a technical topic, I will move it to DC.
