Here's the deal, the signal lights on one side of the car work fine, both front, rear, and dash indicator flash, BUT, on the the other side of the car the dash indicator, and both front and rear signal lights stay on steady at full brightness but won't flash. I checked the wiring diagrams, it's a single circuit flasher, all lights on either side of car use a common ground and all other lights on either side work fine. Any ideas???

Thats usually an indication that one of the lights on that side is burnt out and needs to be changed. Good Luck.

Re: 95 Chevy Baretta Signal Light Problem

Hi and thanks for the suggestions, what confuses the problem is that the left side signals work fine, the right side won't flash and both front and rear bulbs are illuminated and it's the same flasher that works both sides. I'm not a fan of replacing parts at random but I don't recall encountering this one in my life. Looks like it's time to start checking voltage and current.

if all the lights are lighting up full brightness you have plenty of voltage. do a test and swap the 4 way flasher and the signal light flasher if it works replace the bad one. if it doesn't it doesnt cost you anything and its a quick test

Re: 95 Chevy Baretta Signal Light Problem

Hi jimr, good idea, the car is designed that just getting to the flasher is a nuisance so I checked the voltage and current draw at the bulbs on the side that wouldn't flash, measures full battery voltage and bulb rated current draw, so that eliminates bad connections or grounds, which leaves little to check, turns out the flasher was weak, interesting since both sides have the same number of bulbs and current draw to work the flasher, guess it proves you can't assume anything. Bought a new one and it was dead, another trip to the auto store and all's well. Nice thing about being retired is you have time to fool around, beautiful day and no real rush, thanks to all for the comments & hints. :)
