Weed Whipper Bogging

My weed whipper (homelite 2-stroke) sometimes bogs when accelerating from idle. Once at WOT, she runs strong and will cut through any weeds that the string is capable of cutting, without any bogging. I tried adjusting the idle mixture & speed, and the fast mixture. Both mixtures I set by turning until it leans out (pops) and then turn until it richens up (bogs), and then center the screw between these spots. I've tried the idle speed from the point where the motor is just about to die out, all the way up to a very fast idle.
Other than the occasional bogging, she purrs like a kitten. Even started on the first pull last time I trimmed (decided to pump the snot out of the bulb instead of the usual 3~4 pumps).

Go to the richer setting.
It is starving for gas.

Thanks SBN.
Is that richer on the idle mixture, the high speed mixture, or both?

Try the high speed first since that is when it seems to want to do it at throttle up.

If it idles ok, I would not bother the idle mixture too much.

And make sure the fuel pick up tube is not cracked, and that the screen on it's foot isn't clogged.
These little Walbro carbs vibrate loose, so check the mounting screws.

Also, see if it runs better without the muffler. They last about 80 hours max before they clog with carbon and unburnt stuff.
Depending on the machine, the muffler may be cleanable by cooking them out in carbonic carb cleaner (the cleaner that comes in the gallon paint can).

Sidenote on the mufflers.
Some, the homelites I have, can be taken apart and the screen removed from them.

This let's them breathe a little better.
Take the 2 bolts that hold it on out and the muffler will come apart and then you can get this screen out.
