Jim, you around....I'd like to pick your brain about a late model Chevy Z71 if you're a Chevy wrench.

Post the Q here maybe I can help. I've got more tools than anything else. :) I frequent a silverado forum as well so I've read some doozies. :)

Re: Hailing JimR

this stems from my stereo guru's post....still wanting to know what it takes to get the door panels off the rear suicide doors of a 2003 Z71.

Re: Hailing JimR

Sorry I haven't gotten to work on any late model extended cab chevys in a while. I work in a city fleet shop that has manily Fords  but IF i had to guess i would say they are held on with screws and or christmas tree fasteners (you can pop them with side cutters just DON'T cut them unless you get new ones I have special pliers to pop them). if you call a stereo place they will be able to tell you.I can tell you how to take a Crown vic interior apart and put it back with all the police goodies though :D

Re: Hailing JimR

Thanks for getting back to me JimR ! ! We still haven't gotten the rear panels off. However, my youngun took his truck down to one of the stereo shops and had a big honkin amp and subwoofers installed last week. Now he sounds like one of the lowriders you see going around town. I told him the first time I heard the radio doing the BOOM BOOM M/F before I saw him coming or heard the trucks pipes I'd be uninstalling the amp and subs....No if's, and's or but's ! ! !
