older printer on XP

Hi Guys,<br /><br />Just moved my Epson Stylus Photo 700 from my spare computer to my main PC. But having some problems with printing. Every time I try to print out a photo the page gets red lins all over it. Both my machines are running XP pro, any ideas why it works on one and not the other?<br />(p.s. I know that there are no xp drivers from epson to run it in XP, but it did work on the other PC.)

Couple questions:<br /><br />Have you installed new cartiges recently?<br /><br />Have you cleaned the machine lately?<br /><br />Did you install the drivers from a disk, or are you using the XP drivers?<br /><br />Have you ran all the alienment and maintenance programs?

yeah, done all that, about to just go buy new printer. sick of always trying to repair older crap.

I've never had any luck with printers. I just keep reterning them until I get one that lasts more than 30 days. I finally got one that has lasted me 4 years! All I've ever done to it was put in new ink cartridges. I switched it to 3 different computers and still no troubles. Good luck and I can feel your frustration.

I have an Epson Photo 800. I had driver problems with the software program that I was using to print the photos. It was causing the same issue as with your situation. Are you printing from the XP wizard or from a software program. If you go to the Espon website you can download the latest drivers....that might help.<br /><br />The other time I had red lines that wasn't a driver issue was when the print head needed cleaning. I had to run the cleaning program about five times to get the lines out of pictures. There should also be a diagnostic selection to check the nozzles....under the maintainance tab.<br /><br />Dave

Cleaned everything, didn't mater what I printed from. Got stylus C65 now, BEAUTIFUL! and seperate ink tanks too!
