windows size

I have sort of asked this question before but not quite. In January I did ask a question about window sizing but did not ask it clear enough but thank goodness Boomyal came back on the 29 Jan 05, asked it correctly and we all got a really good reply from BoatBuoy which works in 98%of the cases. I will not ask anything about his reply as I photocopied it and it is straight forward.<br /><br />My question goes one step farther. My better half likes to play on Pogo(web site for games)but the screen that comes up is only small and gets hard on her eyes after a while. There is no way it will stretch, up, down , sideways, anyways so we cannot use BoatBuoy's way of increasing it. Up in the top right hand corner the minus, square, and X sign are there but the square is a different color grey and you cannot maximize it that way. The minus and X are the only ones to work. My question is is it the web site that will not allow us to increase the size of the window? or is there another way to increase it? Any help on this subject would be appreciated. Oh yes, she is running XP Home if that makes a difference.

Re: windows size

Some windows on some websites are fixed sizes so I don't think you can stretch it in the normal way with the mouse.<br /><br />What you could do however, is decrease the resolution setting on your computer. This would make the window appear bigger.>>>>><br />Right click anywhere on your desktop and go to properties. Then go to settings at the top right. Down the bottom of that screen, there is a little slider button that you can slide back and forwards.<br />It says "800 x 600" or "1024 x 768". Generally the smaller the numbers, the bigger things will appear. Slide it to the left as far as it will go and then click OK. Everything should look bigger now.

Get a bigger monitor Malibu. It is true, if the middle box is greyed out you cannot enlarge it.

Tks Guys for coming to my rescue. Your replies are appreciated and I half thought that what you said would be the answear but unless you ask the question, you never know for sure. She is running a 17" monitor now so she will have to live with it. I won't change the resoultion each time so goes to her site as I woulld be going back and forth all the time.

Re: windows size

A lot of the games you play online are running java or javascript. The game specifies the window size. There is no way to change it.

Re: windows size

What I would really like to do Boomyal is to get her weaker glasses then that way she couldn't see the screen as she is very addicted to this Pogo site. They offer toooooooo many games to play. Oh well, at least she is not yelling at me!!!

Re: windows size

Buy her a boat and maybe she'll take you fishing instead of playin' puter games.

Re: windows size

We do that anyway RM with our small aluminum boat but just lately it has been too cold to fish. Warm weather fisherman only!
