Re: lawn care

I use Scott's Turfbuilder a couple of times a year and in the spring I spray a liquid weed killer. The lawn usually needs mowing every 5 days but it's worth it.

Originally posted by Winger Ed.:
The problem with fertilizer is that it makes the grass grow. I'm with you. I don't know a real busy boater that has one of those magazine lawns. I've got better things to do. I have a 10 year old neighbor kid that knows whenever he sees my boat gone, he can cut the grass. It works pretty well. I park my boat on the lawn and it gets looking pretty bad underneath which means I'm not spending enough time in the boat so the grass can get some sun. Can't wait for warmer weather. Ice is still on the lakes around here. Cheers. Mark

Re: lawn care

It's going to be a busy spring. Clean up yard and repair deer damage to shrubs ($), then plant a row of evergreens for a privacy screen that I have been putting off for the last 13 years ($$$$$), start working on the hard top for the boat and other boat projects ($$), all while trying to stay out of the poor house.

At least Paul James makes it all look fun.

Fertilizer I get it free from all the dogs that crap on the lawn trouble is trying to avoid stepping on the free stuff while cutting the grass I spend a bundle every year[20 bones] for weed+ feed that's it ,let nature do it's coarse free rain and free fertilizer, short season here lawn mowers last 50 years :D

>hack-phut!<.. I figure, with fertilizer and all, it'd be cheaper to nail dollar bills to the ground in place of the sod
Snapperbait, at least the lawn would look green with all the greenback that you are going to tack down. :D ;) :D

Anyone know where I can get a 55 gal. drum of Roundup? I do not plan on mowing this year.
