Lost keys/drill out lock?

I have a couple dirtbikes given to me, of course the keys are history. I think its possible to get them up and running, but have no wiring diagram (I'm not "electrical" anyway). And the ends of the switches with the wire are buried. Can I just drill out the guts until it switches, or whats the process? I would make a crummy thief, and a terrible Electrician (just good with wrenches!)Thanks in advance, Robby

I beleive they will run with the switch unplugged but not sure. If so you just need to wire up a kill switch and a light switch if you want lights.

Don't go jumping any wires without a digram! It don't take much to fry the elec system.<br />It's pretty easy to drill out, take a bit about the size of the key slot and work it back and forth until it knocks the tumblers out, then you can use a screwdriver or a old key.If your careful, you wont even be able to tell it's been drilled out.

Thanks fixin...thats what I was going to try. See, these are old bikes, sitting in a barn for years, and I just want to check for spark. I have no clue as to what wires (Rubiks Cube has less combos) to combine. If I get spark, I can fix maybe. No spark, hello ebay parts bike. Thanks all

or you could take them by the dealer and get keys for them, they may even be able to supply keys from the number on the lock/ignition. I also think they will run with the ignition unpluged, my yamaha's of that vintage would and had kill switches already on them. could also burn out head lights and other lights if the battery was bad (or not there), just a thought.

I thought, and I could very well be wrong, that the electrical connections are inside the headlight housing on bikes of that vintage. You can "hotwire" bypass the ignition keyswitch from there and use the kill switch for ignition switch. Should be bullet plug connectors.
