Hi,

I have a small problem with my computer and am wondering if anybody can help me.

I know it's only a small problem, but it could be indicative of a bigger one. The GIF images aren't 'giffing', they are just frozen, like a jpg.

I've check that I have Directx 9 installed and all the usual things. I have also checked on a couple of different computers that the GIF's are working.

I have an Intel motherboard, Intel P-4 3.0GHz CPU and am running Window XP-Pro.

Thanks.

Chris................

Were they working in the past? If so try to restore to an earlier date.

Re: GIF's not working

They were working, but that was under Win 98SE. The confusing part is that the other computers are all working correctly, and I set them up all the same, from the same install discs (Not the Win XP of course ;) )

Chris..........

What program are you opening the file with? Are the other computers using the same program and OS when you open the file? Can you open it in Word? If you have MS-Word, open a blank doc, put your GIF in the document, and save as HTML. See if it works in your browser.

Re: GIF's not working

I'm using exactly the same programs on all machines. I should have been a bit clearer in my original post, sorry. The GIFs I am refering to, specifically, are the Graemlins and Avatars on iBoats, and any other website using those. Also I have GIF's saved on my disc. I know what they should be doing, and they ain't. For local viewing I use ACDSee, and Netscape as a web browser. But both of these work on the same images on the different computers. One of those computers is very similar in configuration to the one with the problem.

Chris............
