Mozilla won't load

I went on a website for cheat codes for my video games and then my computer kind of froze.
I could move the cursor, but the "back one page" button would not do anything, so I just closed the window.
Then when I re-opened the window, all I get is a window about "Netscape feedback".
I restarted my computer and the same thing happens.
I can use IE, but Mozilla will not work. Everytime I open it, I still get the "Netscape Feedback" page.
I tried scanning my computer for viruses, but none came up. I also went into add/remove programs, to see if something was installed, but found nothing.
I was wondering if I should just uninstall Mozilla and then install it again? Or is there something else I am missing here?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
B.C.

If it were mine, I would just install Mozilla over your existing as a start. The installer seems to wipe over the old installation just fine. Download the latest installation though (Sept 21).

Re: Mozilla won't load

I just downloaded Mozilla a couple days ago and sometimes when I log into internet explorer and switch back to mozilla it won't open.
I have to restart the computer to get it to work.
I was going to download it again but haven't got around to doing it.
Maybe there's a bug in it.

Those gaming sites are infamous for loading spyware and other trojans onto your computer. I'd run at least two spyware programs (microsofts and spybot, they're both free). Reinstall mozilla, go to options, webfeatures and then unclick "allow websites to install software".

Re: Mozilla won't load

I tried uninstalling and instaling it, but that did not work either.
I never tried the spyware yet, but will try that too, when I get home.

Thanks Xcusme. I will try what it tells me to do, when I get home as well. Thanks. :)
Cheers,
B.C.

Re: Mozilla won't load

I unistalled Mozilla and deleted all the files I found in program files.
Then I installed Mozilla again.
It will load properly, but it will not load any website.
All it says is: "www.iboats.com cannot be found".
Any ideas?

Xcusme: I went to the website you gave me, but I do not know what "HTTP proxy, HTTP, or SOCKS proxy" means, so I do not think I should change anything, unless I understand it.
Could you help me out, please.

Re: Mozilla won't load

Chris, You didn't mention what ver. OS you're running. Are you dialup or broadband?

If you un-installed Firefox, you may have had to to into the Programs Folder and delete the Mozilla folder too. Be sure you goto C:\Documents and Settings\Your_Login_Name\Application Data and toast the Mozilla folder there as well. That last folder holds the Firefox settings that may, if not deleted, keep the hosed settings you're running into.

As another poster mentions, after getting Forefox installed, goto into Tools,Options, Web Features and uncheck Allow Websites to Install Programs.

While you're in Tools,Options, click on General. In lower right corner, find Connection Settings. If you're on cable internet, or DSL, you can leave the setting for either Direct Connection to the Internet or Auto-detect proxy settings.
Sorry I don't have much time to post tonight, very busy on projects.....network stuff.
