When I say viewer I mean program that plays DVD movies. I am looking for a free or cheep program to install on my computer.<br /><br />Thanks for the help!!

i have a lot of DVD's that come with a free player on the disk that work<br /><br />free can be hard as every DVD player is suppose to pay a royality to the DVD gods.<br /><br />if you google some free ones like this come up ,i have no idea if there is a CATCH.<br /><br />i find you have to be carefull useing free software that should cost money it seems to put there to spread trojans<br /><br /> http://www.cliprex.com/ <br /><br />tommays

I believe Microsoft mediaplayer (comes free with windows) will play dvd's

JB only when the wife is sleeping. Thats why I have to get up at 4:00 AM. No 4:00 AM is to read iboat.<br /><br />Thanks everyone for the help. I found my dvd driver. It was in my hand all the time!!!

I use Media Player from Microsoft as mentioned. It works fine and you can change color, hue, brightness and settings when watching. Some times though, it will have a hard time finding the right "Codec" which is what is needed for the software to decipher the code or compression. <br /><br />www.download.com is a good place to look for freeware/shareware programs that play DVD's.

both WMA and Realplayer can be download for free and worry free.

thats not the problem when you install a DVD drive it comes with a piece of software that will allow DVD playback.<br /><br />ANY OTHER program can use this software to play back the DVD <br /><br />but not unless someones DVD software is installed a non lisened program like media player cant play back a DVD<br /><br />every DVD player pays a small royality to the DVD people<br /><br /><br />tommays
