No minimized windows on task bar?????

Running windows 98SE Help!!! When I minimize an application it no longer appears active or shows up on my task bar. but if I re-launch the program it opens another session ex: if I minimize word it appears as if I closed the application, when I re-launch it opens as word doc.2 or 3 or so on. What’s going on????

Have you tried Right clicking on the bottom task bar and playing with the settings??

"alt" + "tab" will let you go back to open programs, also "alt" + "shift" + "tab" goes in the reverse direction

Not that I am aware of but herself also uses that computer, so could be. FWIW the laptop is protected by Norton’s latest anti antivirus/spy ware software.
