A couple of years ago, I installed gas logs in my fireplace. I borrowed a thread-cutter and tripod and ran the gas pipe myself. On advice from my friend, I bought a quart of thread-cutting oil.

Now I have about 3/4 qt. of thread-cutting oil sitting around and don't plan to ever use it.

Is there any use for this stuff besides threading pipe? Can I put it in an oil squirt can and use for general lubricant?

Good for drilling and tapping holes and cutting metal. It's thick so it stays where you put it.

Give it to the person that loaned you the pipe equipment ;)

NOT for chainsaws! Abrasive! Use with drill for cutting oil while drilling heavy metal.
