RP, it's doable, but you would need to host a wav or mpg file.

click for a sound.

I'm just testing. I've got a .wav file hosted, but can't figure out how to imbed it in a post.

I'm using the following:

<bgsound src="sounds/UA_SweetHomeAlabama.wav" loop="0">

in my HTML page to get the sound to play.

Thanks for the help,
I've got a .wav file hosted but I was looking for a way to make it open without having to link to it.
ie: a short sound effect to play automaticly if the post is opened.

I, too, was trying to figure that out without a link. I couldn't figure it out either. I don't think the message board is designed to play music in a post. Could you imagine the noise that would be made should 10 people post different sounds to the same topic? It would also hurt dial-up users with downloading the .wav.

It would be neat though.

Re: Adding sound to a post

What if you placed the link in the post title??

I dont see any way to put it in a post without creating a link,,,,,But if you create a new post and the link can be placed in the title.....

Edit: I tried it, and that wont work either because they do not allow more than 30 characters in a single word.

Now, if you could rename the URL at the origional host before its hosted here, that might work

Just as somthing to think about:
I hate unexpected sounds, or songs on web pages I visit and typicaly never go back. I would not want unexpected sound effects on my PC, especialy since I am at work. As a courtesy to others if you embed a sound you should warn us.
Things like that really effect this PC (A bit clunky)James' link crashed me.

this board does not support HTML code, only UBB codes that are turned on.

Tex.... I agree, there are some sellers on ebay that have either music or a voice recording, I leave them and lever go to their auctions.
