Hi, I am rodbolt's girlfriend. I live in Venezuela and I would like to have as avatar one of the incredible pictures of the pavons we caught in Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela last January. Would you be so kind to help me with that?<br />Thank you very much.

Welcome aboard babycakes. I would help ya with the avatar but as you can see I am avatarily challenged myself. You can try using the search function. That may get you the instruction you need. That or try SBN seem to me he's on top of the avatar thing.

babycakes, go to photobucket.com, it is free to register and use. You have to upload your photo there and then use there resizer to make a smaller avatar. Then go to your profile and add the image. To add the image, you just copy the URL from photobucket and paste it in the line that is for the avatar. Hope this helps, if you have more questions, just ask. Welcome to iboats!

OK,.........<br />After I've done all that,.... whether I type in my password or Not,......<br />And I can See the avatar In the profile page,.. Right where it Belongs,.......<br />When I click on the Update Profile button,.......<br /><br />The Avatar goes Poof,............. Never to be seen again............<br /><br />All I was trying to do was enlarge mine alittle bit, to the reccomended size,......<br />I lost it Months ago........... <br /><br />I haven't tried in awhile,........ I Think I Will................

Seems some photo hosting services just don't work for avatars. Don't know why. If yours doesn't work after 15 minutes of updating your profile and making a new post, I'd try a new hosting service.

I'm trying to use the Same photo storage I have Always used,......<br />Same as when I Did have a working avatar,.....<br /><br />This post is yet Another Test,....... We'll See........

I Don't get it,.......<br />The picture loads the way it Should,....<br />It's in the Update page,.. As it Should Be....<br />It even shows the Right addy in the Updated profile page under My Photo,........<br /><br />Yet it Won't show in a Post.........<br /><br />I Give Up..........

Bondo,<br />Try a different host. Maybe they (your host) have changed something. I'm guessing some servers just don't like the volume of hits it takes for an avatr of a regular poster here at iboats.<br /><br />Try imageshack, photobucket or something. Can't hurt.<br /><br />Rodboltsbabycakes-did you ever get yours to work? You can email me the picture if you'd like and I'll set it up at a host and email you the link. My addy is in my signature. Just be sure to use iboats in the subject line.
