Best Aluminum Bass Boat Manufacturer

I was wondering who you think makes the best Aluminum Bass Boats. I had been looking at a Tracker 185 and it looked ok, but then I looked at a Lowe 180W and it looked even better. Are there any other boats manufacturers that I should consider? Are there any known problems with the quality of either? Thanks<br /><br />Mattl

Depending on your application, Lund and Alumacraft are considered the premier aluminum boats on the market if price is not a major consideration. Recently Tracker marine came out with an aluminum boat formed by a new process that rivals fiberglass in terms of appearance and is a non seam hull. This will probably be the manufacturing process of the future, but it is now pricey. Also consider riveted vs. welded. There is a lot of controversy over which is best and I think it boils down to the type of water you are going to run in.

I'm no expert Matt, but I have looked at Lowe, Lund, Alumaweld, Smokercraft, Klamath, Gregor & Westcoaster among numerous others, as well as talked to as many owners as I could and I decided on a new Crestliner. Take a look - you'll be impressed and they truly stand behind their product.

Matt L,<br /><br />I have an 11 year old Lowe V17 bass boat that is tight as a drum and rides stable and dry. My son has a much newer Lund 1700 Angler (go figure) that is equally stable and dry. I'd recommend either one.<br /><br />tcube

Any of the above. And may as well toss Triton's new aluminum Magnum models on the pile.<br /><br />Aluminum bassboats are not rocket science. So I would look foremost at who sweats the details. As with the fiberglass versions, some will have uncomfortable seats. My old Tracker was not bad, but the wiring was nothing to brag about.<br /><br />A fun class of boat to shop for.
