Hi,

We're planning our annual trip. After a washed out for the most part trip last year, we're planning three trips, and a few days before we actually leave we will head to the one where the weather is predicted to be the best. We're looking at Schroon lake in NY going North (from NJ), Lake Wallenpaupack in PA going west, but need some advice on a lake in the southernly direction. What we want is basically a lake big enough to use a 17 and 19 foot boat on (no power restrictions/etc) with preferrably a campground with a marina. Of course, good fishing too! Any recommendations? Will be the first or second week of Sept that we will be going.

Thanks!

The only decent lake I know of is down here on the spotsylvania/louisa county lines. It is Lake Anna and its huge. There are no power restrictions. There are camp grounds around the lake christopher run is one I know of. I havent used the camp grounds and to tell the truth life hasnt given us a chance to drop the new boat in it yet but its a beautiful lake. Its about an hour or so south of DC with good traffic. I just looked and they have a website www.lakeanna.com it has fishing, camping, directions and such on the site.
