Spray Form Outboad

I recently raised the hight of my outboard to the 3rd hole on my 18'CC with a 90 2 stroke yamaha. The prop is a 13.75x13 ss protech. When I raised the motor I got an addional 200 rpms and no cavitation. But I am now getting this annoying spray off the motor that is coming over the transom and wetting everything. Am I too high, or is there something else happening?
Ed

Does this happen regardless of trim setting? Sometimes this happens when trimmed in.

The trim has little to no effect on the spray.

Well, "usually" when raising the engine heigth, the spray leaves, and, as mentioned above, it usually quits when trimmed out-doesn't take much.
Any way you could have another person drive while you go back and try to determine what the cause is????
I have a transducer that kicks a bit up against the side of the engine at cruise, even when trimmed, but as I go through 50mph it quits, but I have to run the transducer where it is or I loose bottom track at speed.
This may be a good example of where a set of 2" transom spacers would remedy your problem...????

Re: Spray Form Outboad

I have a speed wheel and temp sensor just behind the motor, off to starboard alittle. But the spray is coming off both sides of the motor.
The manufacture rigs this boat from the plant in the second hole. I am riding with the cavitation plate exposed while on plane. So the motor is riding high already. I am concerned about sucking air into the intake.
I had a sad day today. I just winterized the boat for the winter. Hope I was not premature as the weather is going to go into the 60's next week. The stripers have not been to cooperative this fall in South Jersey {LBI}.
Thanks for all your suggestions. If you have anymore for me to try in the spring, please keep them coming.
Ed

Re: Spray Form Outboad

Ya need to find exactly what is causing that water to come fwd...If you've already been back there and verified it wasn't the transducer or speed wheel, a set of 2 inch spacers may fix it. Setting the engine back doesn't raise the engine, it actually allows you to raise more without loosing water pressure, and it "may" get it just far enough back into some "cleaner" water that the spray may stop.
