Best prop for 4.3 omc

I have a 19ft starcraft fiberglass v hull open bow.It currently is running a 21 pitch stainless 3 blade prop.My WOT is around 4300 to4400 at speed of 40 mph. The prop looks kind of old and looks like it has been filed down on the edges of the blades. I'm running a set of smart tabs trying to get rid of a porpoising problem around 30mph..I was wondering what would be a good prop to replace this one with. Any suggestions would be helpful...Thanks

What is your Max recommended RPM, and what Model of 21P SS prop is it you have there???

From what i have been reading my max rpm is 4600 to 4800...i'm going today to the marina to see what model prop or see if i can get more info off of it.I don't remember seeing a model number on it.just 21x14.5 Will look closer..Thanks Walleye! I will post this afternoon

Hey Kenny,I was wrong...the only markings on this prop that i could find was 20X14.5 Still don't see a model number.

I think you have a Raker there..possible anyway...I like the design, but the high rake may not be suitable for your heavier stern.<br />If it IS a Raker, they pull a tad bit less RPM compared to others of like-pitch.<br />I think a Std SS such as an SST in a 19P may be better suited and allow a bit more stern lift, or less bow-lift. A Michigan Match SS may provide about the same.<br />I've got some new desins coming to test that I want to run before I recommend them as I don't know the good and bad of those yet...it may be a few weeks before I have that data.
