Are these Comparable?

I have a 1967 Mercury 35 hp with a 3 blade 10 3/8x15P prop. With my 17 foot Duracraft, the motor will not reach peak PRM's. I am considering going to a smaller pitch, 12-13P range. But before I went shopping, I was given a prop to try.

Will a 2 blade 10 3/8x 18P be similar? I was curious about performance of this two blade prop compared to the 3 blade that I have.

Is this boat and motor too heavy for the 18P prop?

Thoughts before I spend the gas money to get to my local testing hole.

A 2-bld 16P would be simular to the 15P 3-bld.
I know your 10-3/8X15 well...my 70HP merc on a 17ft tracker won't pull it, so I'm sure you're WELL below spec on the 35.
I would lean heavily to the side of 12P in 3-bld.

Re: Are these Comparable?

Thanks for the reply. The business of swapping props to see if it is the right combination can be costly! My thoughts, if the motor is not getting to peak RPMs with a 15P prop and I have not added the front deck to my project boat. Then I will definetly need to go down. I was thinking a 13P, but the more I consider it. 12P will be a safer purchase.

Those 11 Spine hubs are a pain to find. I have tons of 13 Spline props being offered at seemingly cheap prices, but no 11s! And there are only a few on the market when I break down and look at the NEW props.
