This is my first time to this forum I hope somebody can help me. Here's what I know:
1 updated stator(red)
2 trigger checks good per previous postings
(arond 1250 ohms) for all three leads and common.
3 it ran last year but not perfectly.
4 stator outputs 46 VAC on my fluke meter(I don't have
the adapter for peak voltage) on both the grn/wht
and wht/grn leads.
5 there is no spark at any of the 3 cylinders.

I havefound no documentaton detailing the differeces
between the original stator and the upgrade.
As far as I can tell there is one of two components bad
either the stator on the switch box.
I really appreciate any help you-all can give.

check your mercury switch.. is it grounded out?

disconnect the black/yellow wire, it grounds out the ignition.

disconnect motors harness and try again.

Re: '94 mercury sport jet 90 no fire

I have disconnected the blk/yel wires from the "mercury switch" and switch box. I still have no spark. I am leaning toward the switch box but it costs around 300
dollars so I want to be sure the problem is in that part.

laddies, phatman or somebody please help!!!!!!!!!

there is a procedure for checking the switch box. i don't have the manual, use the search (bottom of page) and search for switch box.

If you disconnect the black/yellow wire from the CDI and it doesn't fire, then its either the stator or the CDI. I don't know where you are pricing the CDI's but they're not but around $150.

UPDATE:
I installed a CDI switch box a local tech ordered for me and voiola, I got noise and smoke, the good kind, from the exhaust, that is. I know I paid toomuch for the box(300) but, I don't have a serial number sticker anywhere on the powerhead so I wanted to be sure that I got the correct part. This has been an experience that has turned me against this boat , so, it is going up for sale and I am going to use the money for a Casita travel trailer. This is my sixth boat so I am not giving up on boats just this one for now.
Thanks to all who replied ,for your help rreally guided me to the correct solution and saved me a little $.
