Got new water pump, new thermostat es, new pressure relief valves, ran water through every hole I could find, blew out with air, and still with the water hose hooked up the hot alarm will come on, but when I put in a garbage can it will run all day and not get hot. What rocket scientist thought of having the pisser shoot water out without going through the engine, the water is cold does not tell you a lot.

The hose adapter is not for running. You need muffs to flush that way.

The pisser tells you that your water pump is pumping, nothing more.

Hey thanks, for the reply, I did use muffs with the water wide open, there is a very strong stream of water out of the pisser, but a very little or no water out of the exhaust bypass ports, I guess I'll just have to use the old trash can to make sure I get it flushed out after using in salt water.

I wouldn't crank the water all the way open. You'll be surprised at the new water leaks , that can be created , with too much water pressure. You may want to be sure you didnt get a bad t stat .

It is normal for little water or mist to come out of the bypass ports when using muffs or in a barrel. You will get a steady flow when the boat is in the water at higher speeds.
