motor has electric shift works fine at low speed but once you put the power on it jumps in neutral. I ve had the leg of gears look fine and ive replaced the oil.
Im assuming I have a bad solonoide ?

any one know where I can get one ?

Check the propeller first. Despite the shear pin drive, there's a rubber hub pressed in between the brass part of the propeller that the pin runs through and the aluminium part that has the blades attached. Mark the brass part against the outside part with a magic marker, take the outboard out for a spin, and see if the marks still line up.

Are you using OMC/BRP "Premium Blend" outboard gearcase lube? Any signs of water intrusion?

Normally the clutch springs are the problem.

yes when i took the bottom end appart the water was white and milky. I used a gasket maker and sealed all surfaces when it went back together. I never though of looking at the prop. Thing was I energized the coil with a spare battery I had in the garage and tryed to turn the prop shaft and I could barly move it but Im guessing that the force of the water at over half speed could be more than I could induce.

Thanks Ill give it a try today and come to think of it
this all happened when I changed the prop a few weeks ago ( there was a steele shear pin in it and I hit a shole)

thanks again

If memory serves me correctly, the prop isn't supposed to slip until you put over 170 ft/lbs of force on it, which is virtually impossible without a test fixture.
The proper drive pin is stainless steel, 1/4" in diameter.

any prop shop can rebuild the prop, or buy a new one.
