Re: overheat

Welcome chema.

Did you replace the thermostat?
You can try running the motor without the thermostat to check if it makes a difference. Also, have the make sure that none of the carbs are running too lean, as this will overheat 1 or 2 cylinders and burn up the motor.

Re: overheat

hi¡¡¡ me again, i tried running the motor without the thermostat and theres not a difference, i put the thermostat again and i note another problem, when i start the motor the water pump works good but when im running the water pump not work properly, i mean the water flow in the escape stops and the motor overheat, inmediatly i reduce the RPM from 6000 to 1500 and the water pump work good again and the motor start to keep cool, what should i need to check?, or what shoul i need to do??
Ahhh¡¡¡ and can you send me a diagram of how is the correct way to replace the water pump, because i think , the problem its there¡¡.
Thank you i´ll be waiting for your answer

Re: overheat

Did the old impeller break apart?

Did you replace only the impeller?
Or did you replace the entire water pump?

You will have to remove the water pump and inspect the water pump housing for corrosion and wear.

Also check that the water tube is properly connected to the engine.

When looking from the top, the blades of the impeller must point counter-clockwise.
