Had someone coming to possibly buy my boat today, and the worthless peice of **** decided now would be a good time to stop working. :|

Last year I replaced almost everything on this '74 inline 6. New powerhead, rebuilt carbs, brand new wiring harness built from scratch. Previous to today, it started great. Even the first time for the season, it fired right up without even using the choke.

Now it's been sitting for about two weeks. Haven't touched it. It won't fire. I'm pretty sure there is no spark, though it was hard to tell in the bright sunlight. It turns over fine and the battery is fully charged. What causes no spark in these things? I don't even know where to begin...

Back to the basics... Confirm that there is or isn't spark.
Spark + fuel = combustion. If you have spark, there must be a fuel problem.

Did someone momentarily hook up the battery backwards? That sometimes, can stop the spark.

Well, I had a chance to check the spark with a timing light. It's there, thank god. That doesn't make any sense though, because I sprayed gas in the carbs and didn't get a single puff. I'm going to go see if the plugs are wet...

Sorry for the delay in responding, I have been extremely busy. The plugs were dry so I replaced the primer bulb. (which has needed replacing for a while) It still wouldn't start after that, but a few days later it started up again just fine like nothing ever happened. Stupid boat! :|

A trigger going can act like that.
If so it will die soon.
