Why are you tilting the motor while running?

tilting indicates float boat problem It sounds like when tilted not enough gas for the pickup to get too. I agree though why are you tilting it when running it. A little trim is okay, but not tilting it.

thanks for the reply , yes i was thinking the float also..and the main is sucking air i guess.except i know when i set the bowls i set them to level height..ill have to remove the carbs and check..althought i see a flame in the clear pulse line when she shuts off , so was thinking perhaps to much fuel?.hmm..iuse clear lines onmine outboard so i can see anyairbubbles or flames.. lolhey it works!.and if u use the rt clear line it just hardens an d gets stronger, hey! if i didnt use it i would never see the airbubble si had a week ago bad squeese ball and teh flame! i wouldnt use it on a customers boat though.my 1975 only has tilt no power trim..i used the word tilt yes im tilting to get over florida sandbars,, was a matter you guys never saw a sandbar?.must be deep sea tuna hunters,?. lol. anyway ,i am at idle and tilting sometimes all the way up so as almost just chop the water with my prop to get across the sandbars of the keys.my whaler is almost a flatbottom and the water pick up is under water still.is 4 pounds to high for a fuel pump? my sealock manual sux on ice! .many thanks ..

You may have a broken membrane in the fuel pump

Power Tilt Trim will only allow a engine to operate withing a 15° angle.

Using a Power Tilt only unit, it's quite easy to quickly exceed that 15° angle. The engine will not operate properly no matter what modifications you make if this is the case.

(Carburetor Float Setting)
(J. Reeves)

With the carburetor body held upside down, the float being viewed from the side, adjust the float so that the free end of the float (the end opposite the hinge pin) is ever so slightly higher (just ever so slightly off level) than the other end. And when viewed from the end, make sure it is not cocked.
