Re: johnson outboard

It's gotta be an outboard disease.

Have you even looked at any other posts on this forum known as Website/Forum Issues
Didn't you notice the Johnson Evenrude forum at all, anywhere? Did you even look around before you posted?

Re: johnson outboard

It is annoying............but why let it bother you so much Don? With this new format and the problems with logging in and registering, who knows what other people are seeing.

Re: johnson outboard

I know what they are seeing. All you have to do is log out and come back in and you will see.
The problem is, when they post their outboard questions here, the questions about the forum and website get shuffeled to the bottom quicker and don't get answered.
The problem is, they just post on the first forum on the list. Why, because they are too lazy to look for the right one. Why worry, the mods will move it and make it easy for them.

Re: johnson outboard

So then why does stuff like this happen if we all see the same thing. I'm just saying I'm not 100% sure all of this is due to laziness. There are wierd things happening on this board......you have to register to post in the help forums so maybe it is laziness in that regard.

You may be right, it might be lazy people. I'm not trying to start an argument or anything.

Is that why they are asking stupid off topic questions? Because they can't post in the right forum? They they need a separate Forum, like a guest forum. That would be interesting and fun to mess with. Sorta like DC gone wild!

Re: johnson outboard

evrcare.....there are a lot of v-4 Johnsons that have a model# that starts like yours does, "V4SL" starts the model number for the 1960-65 75hp, the 1958-59 50hp, the 1966-67 80hp and the 1968 85hp motors.

The difference is the number that follows those 4 letters. ARe you looking at the transom tag to get us the model number? maybe it is a little worn. I'm not sure if all outboards have them, but there very well could be a round metal "plug" in the block that will also have the model number. Best thing you can do is verify the model # you gave in the original post, because I coul not find the one you posted...............only motors that have models #'s that are very close.

Re: johnson outboard

Man People are LAZY just thought I would say that because I am a smart ass.... Is there anyway we can say Your a Lazy M_F-er (hey is that a word) if they ask a ? starting with what year is this motor because man a monkey could find the year of a motor anymore with asking that ? on this forum or any other place in space. It is called a search !!!! I don t think Bill Gates came up with it but it is simple search first then ask ? second not rocket science

Re: johnson outboard

Well dsinger I thought that at first....................BUT..........there is also a good chance that he has the wrong model number, which would make any search pretty meaningless.

It however is not because I am lazy, it was that I did not know how this site worked. sorry if this ruinned your day but judging by your response to evrcare I would say it was ruinned long ago.

Re: johnson outboard

it's a 1963 75 hp.. they are good old engines. most parts are available. click my name and get email add. ask me for" awakening a sleeping outboard" the faq section is down or i would refer you to it. has beginning info on what to do with that engine, before you even try to start it. open a new thread " '63 75 johnson awakening" post everything you know about the engine. model
every one has been frustrated by the udates to improve the forum, but they did'nt workout the bugs before the changed it. don't use the spell check!!!
