2 cycle 2001 50 hp Merc. ser # DT 189582.
When I shop for a pump I see it's not that simple. So many models, US, canadian, "begging ser #- ending ser # (mine seems too short based on this)??? Does my ser # help?
Is this why I can't find a repair manual?

Re: Water pump help.

Are you sure the serial number isn't "O"T 189582. Go to Mercury's web site, click on Shop/Parts Express. Enter your serial number and then click on lower unit. The correct part number will be displayed.

Re: Water pump help.

I first posted it as O, that is how it appeared on title paper. But... as it was hand written, it "kinda" looked like a D. So I asked a guy to double check (the boat is stored there). He calls back and says it's on a sticker with other ibfo & it is D. I then edited my post. I;m curious to know why you suspect (or know) it's O
None of Iboats numbers are even close to either O or D nor the amount of digits.
Will do as you advise at Mercury. Thanks:)

Thank you! Weird site. I went there but saw no link to partd. Looked like a hijacked site, nothing but ads & links to links.
The part # is great to have! Thanks again, Ted
