I'm trying to adjust my caruration on my inline 6 for a better holeshot, (its terrible right now) and i'm tring to figure out which adjustments on the carbs are Idle screws and airscrews. I'm using the post on inline 6's by Clams as my guide. Does anyone have a picture or a good description for me. (1976 1500)

Thank

Re: Idle screw + needle

If you mean idle "speed" screw -- it is linkage related and there is only one. Each carb has a "mixture" screw with a spring under it.

Try uploading your pic to www.photobucket.com amd paste the link in your post. You also may want to get a manual before you adjust anything.

Deep Blue, Red, green and blue arrows are brass covers or plugs over the different fuel and air passages within the carb body. These need to be snug so there are no air or fuel leaks.d:)

Actually the screw meters FUEL not air. Screwing it in all the way stops fuel. Adjust them as per my instructions. Past that, if all else is correct, a poor hole shot usually means it's overpropped and will soon be melting a piston 1st time the Cods look at it sideways.
