1983 70hp Johnson

My engine starts and idles and drives at very low rpms but when I push the throttle its boggs down and dies. When I first started it it was idling very high then came down. This boat's oil inject system no longer works so Im using a 50:1. It has new plugs and it has not been used in a couple years.

Time to overhaul/clean the carbs.

I have the same motor and problem

I also have the same motor and same problem. At WOT it runs at around 32 MPH but it takes some time playing with the throtle lever to get it there. Any word on you finding the fix?
